Flyer

Image
Spring Carnival Flyer Ed. Tech. Standard 6: Use telecommunications efficiently an effectively to access remote information and communicate with others in support of direct and independent learning and for pursuit of personal interests. This flyer is a fun example, that I could use for almost anything. It is like a demo that I could just change the information for what ever event I need to. In my flyer I include the following: schools name, event title, date, time, cost, where, and events that will take place. Flyers are an easy way to get in touch with parents. They also help increase the students responsibility to give the flyer to their parents. When the parents get involved it shows that they are interested in their students education. Getting to know the parents can help you know your students better. Flyers can help you accomplish that bond between teacher, student, and parent, in a very easy way.

Animoto-Phases of the Moon

Image
Phases of the Moon 6th Grade Science Standard 1: Students will understand that the appearance of the moon changes is a predictable cycle as it orbits Earth and as Earth rotates on it's axis. Ed. Tech. Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum.  I created this Animoto to help my students understand the phases of the moon. When I was in elementary school I remember learning this, and I was so amazing that the sliver that was sometimes in the night sky was actually a ball. As I show this video to my class I would also like to include some fun facts about the moon. For example: the moon keeps the same side towards earth; The moon was created by a violent collision into earth; What is a solar eclipse; There is water on the moon; Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon, his mission was called Apollo 11, on July 20 1969. I want my students t...

Solar System 6th Grade Science Standard 3: Students will understand the relationship an attributes of objects in the solar system. Ed. Tech. Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum. I created this Animoto because planets are so much fun to learn about! In my Animoto I include pictures of each planet in their order from the sun. I remember back in 6th grade, my teacher had . pictures of the planets up on her wall. She would always quiz us on them. Now I can remember all the planets in order. In my Animoto I wanted to include some fun and cool facts about the planes so as I teach this to my class here are some fun facts I can use. Mercury is the closest one to the sun, but it also has ice on it's surface. Venus and Mercury have no moons. No one knows how old Saturns's rings are. Neptune has supersonic winds. There are two types of pla...

Animoto-The worlds tilt and seasons

Image
Seasons 6th Grade Science Standard 2: Students will understand how Earth's tilt on it's acis changes the length of daylight and creates the seasons. Ed. Tech. Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum. I created this Animoto to help my students understand the seasons. Seasons can be confusing when you don't really know what causes them. Its not winter just because there is snow on the ground and its cold. Its not fall because the leaves have a mind of their own and decide to change orange. Its because of earths tilt that we have seasons. When the sun is shining directly on the northern hemisphere we have summer. When the sun is shining directly on the southern hemisphere they are having summer and we are having winter. In between those times we have fall and spring. I want my students to know and understand why we have seasons. Many...

Animoto-Stars

Image
Stars 6th Grade Science Standard 4: Students will understand the scale of size, distance between objects, movement, and apparent motion (due to Earth's rotation) of objects in the universe and how cultures have understood, related to, and used these objects in the night sky. Ed. Tech Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum. I created this Animoto on stars to teach my students how fun and interesting stars are. As I show this in class I will also describe things that I could not put in the video. For example my first slide is a picture of the milky way. Many students have seen pictures of the milky way but in some cases they don't know what it is. I will go on to describe the Milky Way and what its composed of. My other Animoto videos will help me with that as well. Then, going on in my slides I come to a picture of the North Star,...

Tech. Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum. I created this brochure to help my students learn about physical education and how important it is. I start by discussing what physical activity and success is. There are many skill that you can learn while being physically active, and I also named some of them in the brochure. It goes on to say why physical activity is important. Something that is very important when being physically active is being nice to other players around you. I talk about what good sportsmanship is and how to be a good friend even if they aren't on your team. I also discus some words to describe success and challenge. Thi...
