News Letter

Image
May News Letter Ed Tech. Standard 5: Use technology tools for individuals and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. This is a news letter designated for the month of May. I love it so much that I could use it for other months as well. Its very simple to change the colors and some of the pictures. The layout is simple and easy. Its very organized and easy to read so there is no confusions. Its colorful and fun for kids to look at too, so they can remember the important dates and to study their spelling words and vocabulary. I also think newsletters are very important. They help parents get involved in the student education, and by parents getting involved they help teach their children more. I defiantly recommend every teacher to find an easy template to use as a newsletter and send them out with their kids and parents! Maybe mine can be of some assistance in giving you a...

I continue to show them chords: C, F, D, G. These chords are used in "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" Which is the song we will learn and play as a class. I continued to teach extra chords, for those over achiever students. A minor, D minor, and E minor are the extra chords I taught. Human Skeleton 3rd Grade Health Standard 3; Objective 1: Summarize the functions of the skeletal and muscular systems. Ed. Tech. Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum. There is also a fun rap song that I found on YouTube that I included. I want my students to learn about themselves, what they are made of, literally! Bones are very important to know. I had a bone vocabulary test in each of my health classes in junior high and high school. In my classroom I want to teach my student  the bones song. Over the curriculum we will learn the bone by studying this Thing Link ...

Story Bird-My Mommy is the Best. 4th Grade Health Standard 2; Objective 2: Identify the qualities of positive role models. Ed. Tech. Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum. This Story Bird is so cute. The Health standard I chose was, "identify the qualities of positive role models." This is a rhyming book, from a daughters point of view telling and showing how much she loves her mom. I think parents play a great role for kids and they need to be a good role model for them. In class after reading this Story bird my class will write a paper on who their role model is and why. Doing this will help them identify who they look up to and have more appreciation for that person and also other people around them.

The Google Doc that I created can help me and also other teachers in their classrooms. I created a simple Multiplication tests for 3rd - 6th grader. There are 3 different texts included in this Google Document. This is so the students and teachers can get a variation of what the students know and what they can work on. This document is organized and neat, so students don't get distracted and its easy to take. I want my students to excel in math, I always struggled with my times tables. When my teachers said "Timed test!", I would get really bad anxiety because I knew I wasn't going to pass. I don't want that for my students. I want them to have confidence and kn...

This is a quiz/test for the sixth grade read Stargirl. It consists of 26 questions. This test will inform me how well they read and understood the book. The test is easy and short, so the children won't lose interest and I can still see how well they did. I want my students to learn to love reading. Once you create a habit of good reading, you keep it forever. If you start reading younger, reading becoming easier and you'll like it more. I remember when I was in elementary school, I really struggled with reading. I was always in the slower reading group and that always discouraged me. I think understanding the importance of reading at a younger age will help...

This flyer is a fun example, that I could use for almost anything. It is like a demo that I could just change the information for what ever event I need to. In my flyer I include the following: schools name, event title, date, time, cost, where, and events that will take place. Flyers are an easy way to get in touch with parents. They also help increase the students responsibility to give the flyer to their parents. When the parents get involved it shows that they are interested in their students education. Getting to know the parents can help you know your students better. Flyers can help you accomplish that bond between teacher, student, and parent, in a very easy way.

Tech. Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum.  I created this Animoto to help my students understand the phases of the moon. When I was in elementary school I remember learning this, and I was so amazing that the sliver that was sometimes in the night sky was actually a ball. As I show this video to my class I would also like to include some fun facts about the moon. For example: the moon keeps the same side towards earth; The moon was created by a violent collision into earth; What is a solar eclipse; There is water on the moon; Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon, his mission was called Apollo 11, on July 20 1969. I remember back in 6th grade, my teacher had . pictures of the planets up on her wall. She would always quiz us on them. Now I can remember all the planets in order. In my Animoto I wanted to include some fun and cool facts about the planes so as I teach this to my class here are some fun facts I can use. Mercury is the closest one to the sun, but it also has ice on it's surface. Venus and Mercury have no moons. No one knows how old Saturns's rings are. Neptune has supersonic winds. There are two types of pla...

Standard 4: Use general purpose productivity tools and peripherals to support personal productivity, to remediate skill deficits, and to facilitate learning through the curriculum. I created this Animoto to help my students understand the seasons. Seasons can be confusing when you don't really know what causes them. Its not winter just because there is snow on the ground and its cold. Its not fall because the leaves have a mind of their own and decide to change orange. Its because of earths tilt that we have seasons. When the sun is shining directly on the northern hemisphere we have summer. When the sun is shining directly on the southern hemisphere they are having summer and we are having winter. In between those times we have fall and spring. I want my students to know and understand why we have seasons. Many...
